This week in Destiny, we launched Monument of Triumph, our last live service update for the best game ever made, aka Destiny 2. We hope you had fun and that you could reunite with old friends, whether they are old raid bosses that have been away for far too long or weapons reprised with all the love in the world. There were new friends coming to the party, too. Don't you love surprises?

Destiny 2: The Collection Trailer
Five expansions. Four content packs. Ten dungeons. Seven raids.
Destiny 2: The Collection is available now.
Pantheon Gauntlet Opens Saturday
You've seen the two activities available at launch and may have noticed a difference between them – other than their unique lineup of bosses. Calus Resplendent features reprised encounters. Meaning they are largely as they originally were, but with changes to modernize the mechanics, and tuning of combat and bosses to fit into the current gameplay meta. Continuing in the musical theme, each encounter in Morgeth Surpassing is an encore. Each encore combines two previously separate encounters, one with a boss and one without, into a new experience that requires new strategies and coordination to overcome.
This Saturday, a third REDACTED activity will unlock and challenges players to take on the full gauntlet of reprised and encore bosses. To earn the Godsbane title, intrepid fireteams need to complete 11 out of the 12 available triumphs, 3 of which are in this new activity, each rewarding unique emblems. For example, the Total Revolution triumph requires completing the gauntlet with five feats active to earn its emblem.
Knowing that the full gauntlet may be intimidating for some fireteams and to provide a means to focus your gear pursuits, a rotation will begin featuring the Pantheon bosses next Tuesday at reset. One reprised and one encore encounter will be featured each week giving players direct access to that boss and its rewards.
(This section has been updated, it originally read "Golgoroth Surpassing" instead of "Morgeth Surpassing".)
Trials of Osiris Returns on June 12
Trials of Osiris is returning for the very first time after Monument of Triumph and it now works a bit differently. Instead of a map and just one featured weapon, players will be facing each other on three maps each weekend. As for the weapon, all Trials weapons will be dropping every weekend, but you can attune on your Inventory for a higher chance to get the reward you want. Lastly, we have a brand-new Trials of Osiris Armor set available to earn, check it below.
New Player Guide Updated for Monument of Triumph
Whether you are a lapsed player coming back for Monument of Triumph or you are a new player wondering what all the buzz is about, our New Player Guide will come in handy if you get a bit lost in all the systems that make Destiny 2 such a deep, complex, and intriguing game. We've been working on updating so all the many changes coming with Monument of Triumph are covered by it, including one new section that focuses on returning players jumping into the game right as the update goes live.
While we don't cover everything on this guide, we still believe is a good starting point or that it might help you answer some of your questions. Go check it here. Additionally, we also have many articles in our Player Support section of Bungie Help that will also help you if you are stuck or don't understand a specific part of the game. Go here to check it out.
Monument of Triumph FAQ
Our dear friends on the Social Media Team put together a fantastic thread covering a lot of questions both new and returning players may have about Monument of Triumph. You can read it in this thread on Twitter, but also as the last chapter of the aforementioned New Player Guide.
Q) I haven’t played in a while. Are my old weapons and armor still usable?
A) Your previous gear is a great starting point for getting back into Destiny 2. As you continue to play, you will earn new and higher Tiered gear that has increased stats, Armor Set Bonuses, and weapons with additional perks to select. This will help you to push past the limitations of your older gear. Keep anything that you enjoy using but be open to replacing gear as your Power Level grows.
Q) I haven’t played since before The Edge of Fate, what is the best way to level up and increase my power?
A) Freshly returning Guardians will start at 10 Power, but loot will drop at 300+ Power as a quick catch-up method - we removed the catch-up chest in favor of natural drops! Pay close attention to the rewards that each activity grants to optimize your Guardian’s Power gain, as various activities and their respective difficulties reward different amounts of gear Power.
Q) Where can I find other people to play with?
A) Check out Fireteam Finder, our in-game LFG (looking for group) tool. You can access it from the roster screen.
Give it a look and let us know what you think!
Revisiting the Update 9.7.0 Patch Notes
Oh, were these long! At a record-breaking 17,000+ words, the Destiny 2 Update 9.7.0 patch notes went live on Tuesday and covered everything the Monument of Triumph update brings to the game. The dev team poured their hearts and their brains to leave the game in the best state possible as we end its active development. While we will have some minor bug fix patches and hotfixes, this update is the last "big one”. So, in case you missed them the other day, here they are so you can give them the proper sendoff.
Thank you for showing up en masse for this one and pardon our dust while we address some of the hiccups that may have popped up with this release. Game development is hard, but worth it.

Old Light Emblem
On Tuesday, our first wave of players received their Old Lights emblem. However, the in-game message sharing the location was incorrect: players should look for this emblem in Collections > Flair > Account.
While many players have received this emblem already, there will be more waves for distribution over the next several weeks, so fret not if you qualify and haven’t received it yet.
Additionally, we wanted to reshare how we are determining eligibility for the Old Lights emblem and the Elemental Qi emote (which will appear in Special Deliveries). Players whose Bungie Account and linked platform accounts that logged in and played Destiny 2 at least once during the following time periods will qualify for the emblem and emote:
- ⚪ Destiny 2 Launch: September 6, 2017 - September 3, 2018
- 🪦 Forsaken: September 4, 2018 - September 30, 2019
- 🌕 Shadowkeep: October 1, 2019 - November 9, 2020
- 🧊 Beyond Light: November 10, 2020 - February 21, 2022
- 👑 Witch Queen: February 22, 2022 - February 27, 2023
- ❇️ Lightfall: February 28, 2023 - June 3, 2024
- 🔺 The Final Shape: June 4, 2024 - July 14, 2025
- 👁️ The Year of Prophecy: July 15, 2025 - June 8, 2026
For our Korean Guardians, we are also ensuring that you will qualify for the emblem if you began playing during Shadowkeep.
Pantheon
- Calus can get locked in an animation before teleporting players, causing the encounter to soft-lock.
Sparrow Racing League
- Match completions are not automatically completing orders as expected.
Renegades
- Some players are unable to claim the NLS Courier ship after completing Renegades.
- Entering the exit Hawk backwards in Lawless Frontier activities prevents use of gunner turret.
Activities
- The Shattered Throne Dungeon is currently not dropping the Wish Ender catalyst as intended.
- Master Conquest: Conductor's Keep is currently disabled due to a blocking issue that was found prior to release. This activity will be available to players after we deploy a fix in an upcoming maintenance patch.

- Players in Operation: Seraph's Shield are being killed when taking the elevator, blocking progress through the activity.
- Players can get soft-locked in Savathun's Spire during the shielded Ogre encounter.
- This can occur if players clear out all 3 Bells immediately as the destructibles around them spawn. Players are advised to wait a moment before progressing this objective.
- Players can be blocked from progressing Kell's Fall if they are killed during the final boss fight and respawn behind the closed door.
- The Ketchcrash activity can become soft-locked by enemies spawning stuck behind doors.
Abilities
- The Howl of the Storm Titan Aspect is temporarily disabled.
- This is due to an issue causing it to deal extremely high damage when paired with Golden Gun. This aspect will be re-enabled once a fix is deployed.
- Solar Warlock movement while Heat Rises is active is currently performing worse than intended.
- The On Your Mark aspect description incorrectly states that it applies Cure.
- Final blows while at ten stacks apply Restoration.

- Some shaders are incorrectly sharing their visuals with other existing shaders.
- The visuals of the Triumphal Anthem Mask appear distorted when previewed.
- The Covert Ranger Cloak visuals are cut off below the shoulders.

And that will do it for this TWID following the launch of Monument of Triumph! The whole team has been eagerly watching your journeys through Sol as you explore the latest changes and additions we’ve made to Destiny 2. We’re also keeping a close eye on what needs some extra tweaks and still have a few days ahead of us as we check fixes, squash bugs, as we prepare to deploy Update 9.7.0.1 next week to address them. This incremental patch is slated to go live Tuesday with patch notes delivered in advance on the day.
As a reminder from our Monument of Triumph announcement article, we will be continuing TWIDs for a few weeks following launch to keep you informed of game news. Once we're through our launch window, our weekly blog entries will be entering a form of hibernation as well. This won't be the end of communications from us by any means; we'll still be keeping in touch with you and sharing community highlights through our website, social media channels, Discord, and other outlets.
Speaking of game news, the Vanguard is receiving reports that Dredgen Bael is attempting to seize a Weapon of Sorrow discovered on the Moon. Go make sure that doesn’t happen, Guardians.
