New God Skins Balance Live with the 11.8 Update
Game Modes
Conquest
We’ve received strong feedback that our Support players are feeling slightly too squishy, and we believe some of this can be solved with the Green Buff effects. This small buff is intended to further incentivize players to focus a little more on having this buff active leading into pivotal moments of the game.
  • Green Buff
    • Decreased Protection threshold for additional Health and Mana from 50 to 40
More action the better! To encourage god combat in the solo lane, we’re increasing the Mana returns from Blue Buff when hitting a God.
  • Blue Buff
    • Increased Mana restore on god hit from 2% to 3% of your Missing Mana
Our data has shown us that Golden Totem was highly favored by players, so we’re bringing it down slightly to make room for the others, as well as buffing the lowest-picked options, hopefully encouraging more variety in players’ totem selection!
  • Gold Totem
    • Decreased Flat Penetration from 5/7/10 to 3/5/7
  • Verdant Totem
    • Increased Max Health and Mana gain from 8/10/12% to 10/12/14%
  • Crimson Totem
    • Increased Lifesteal and Physical Ability Lifesteal from 10/12.5/15% to 12.5/15/17.5%
Specifically targeting some of Gold Fury’s base values here, we want to increase the temptation of going for this objective in the early game, and allow it to be a more viable option while the enemy team may be focused on the Bull Demon.
  • Gold Fury
    • Decreased Base Health from 3000 to 2750
    • Increased Base Gold from 130 to 150
Items
Hastened Fatalis One of the most iconic items in SMITE’s history has made its return, but surprisingly, there has been much debate over its actual strength. In general, we are pleased to see its popularity, but want to take any adjustments slowly, as we want to be cautious about completely removing it from viability.
  • Increased Cost from 2500 to 2600
Shifter’s Shield We hear you! Players have certainly appreciated having this item back in the game, but with its extreme stat-to-cost efficiency it became far too common in builds. With a stat nerf in 11.7 Bonus Balance, and a cost nerf in 11.8, our goal is to hit this item’s efficiency from both ends so that it is still somewhat flexible between roles but not a must-buy.
  • Increased Cost from 2400 to 2500
Hide of the Nemean Lion Perhaps one of the most controversial items of all time, Hide of the Nemean Lion has caused a stir since its reintroduction to the game. We’re glad the fans of this item are having fun, but feel as if it’s already time to tone down the Reflect Damage slightly in order to allow for more counter-play.
  • Decreased Reflect Damage from 15% to 12.5%
Shield of the Phoenix Both Shield of the Phoenix and its Tier 2, Fortress Shield, are losing a small amount of health to bring them down just a notch, more in line with the TTK changes we have made recently.
  • Decreased Health from 250 to 200
Fortress Shield
  • Decreased Health from 200 to 150
Asi While we are very glad Asi has seen a great amount of play since it gained Flat Penetration again, we still want other options to be considered, so we’re bringing Asi’s power down slightly to allow competing options to shine.
  • Decreased Physical Power from 40 to 35
Soul Eater & Evolution With Flat Penetration becoming more valuable with the adjustments to TTK, Soul Eater has become a very popular early purchase for Solos, ability Hunters, and even some Junglers. As such, we want to slow down the rate at which it comes online, especially because players have gained access to its ability Lifesteal from the base item.
  • Now only grants Flat Penetration on evolution
Wing Shard Shard choices seem to ebb and flow naturally along with the meta, but Wing Shard has been collecting dust for quite some time now, so instead of just sitting and hoping the meta comes to it, we’re giving it a decent bump in duration to make it applicable to more situations.
  • Increased Duration from 3s to 5s
Devourer’s Gauntlet In line with our nerfs to Asi, we’re reducing the cost of Devourer’s Gauntlet so that it can better compete in the current Asi-dominated meta.
  • Decreased Cost from 2400 to 2300
Bladed Boomerang Though this item has huge potential for Critical Strike builds, it is frequently overlooked due to the difficulty in maintaining its buff. We are giving a bit more flexibility to players by allowing them to worry about hunting down their boomerangs just a bit less frequently.
  • Increased Buff Duration from 6s to 10s
Winged Blade This item tree has seen quite a bit of shuffling around recently, but one thing that has remained constant is that Winged Blade is rarely being purchased, despite its strong Passive effect. Because of this, we’re bringing its base stats up considerably, making it a more attractive option when searching for cheap magical defense.
  • Increased Magical Protection from 20 to 25
  • Increased Health from 150 to 200
  • Increased Crowd Control Reduction from 10% to 20%
Dawnbringer Ever since its introduction to the game, Dawnbringer has consistently struggled to find its mark on the meta. With a couple small buffs, we’re eager to see if this will finally allow this item to find a home!
  • Decreased Cost from 2400 to 2350
  • Increased Health from 150 to 200
  • Increased Passive Duration from 6s to 8s
Heartward Amulet While this defensive aura item was once a staple of Support builds, its simple, yet effective passive may not excite players as much as other options. Even though it is a straightforward item, we believe it is still an item that can be effective in the right hands, especially with its Glyphs, so we want to bump up its stat efficiency to allow it a bit more room to stand on its own as well.
  • Decreased Cost from 2100 to 2050
  • Increased Health from 200 to 250
  • Added 200 Mana
Spear of the Magus The Magic Focus tree has been popular for quite some time now, yet Spear of the Magus has been passed up by items like Obsidian Shard, Typhon’s Fang and Charon’s Coin. With a small reduction to its cost, and a significant reduction to its cooldown, we’re hoping that this item will become not only more accessible, but also more applicable than it previously was.
  • Decreased Cost from 2450 to 2400
  • Decreased Cooldown from 15s to 8s
Curseweaver Though the other staves have gotten buffs in recent patches, it’s time for the most recently debuted of the bunch, Curseweaver, to get some too!
  • Increased Max Health and Mana damage from 5% to 7.5%
Rod of Tahuti + Glyphs A small bump in Power is all this item needs to help better round out late game mage builds!
  • Increased Magical Power from 115 to 125
Charon’s Coin + Evolution Charon’s Coin has always had a unique flavor aspect of its passive that grants gold on gaining a kill or assist, but we want to lean into that flavor a bit more to allow players to purchase this item early to econ if they get active and aggressive!
  • Increased Gold per flip from 1 to 15
Stone of Gaia Though this niche item was once a staple of counter builds, it has fallen out of favor due to the infrequency of its effect. With this adjustment, there will always be an effect available for users of this item.
  • Now grants Power when the Passive is not on cooldown
  • Removed Power while the Passive regeneration is in effect
Equinox This is a revert to a previous nerf, because since that nerf we have introduced items like Stone Cutting Sword which somewhat directly compete with Equinox’s build slot, resulting in Equinox buy rates plummeting. We want both of these items to be viable, so the goal is to bring Equinox up again slightly to make it a more tempting choice.
  • Increased Passive Damage per level from 2 to 3
Abyssal Stone Though the stat efficiency of this item is very solid, its passive felt as if it left things to be desired. As such, we are fully lifting the cooldown restriction as an experiment to see how much players value this style of passive.
  • Removed the Passive Cooldown
Erosion While this item does consistently provide an anti-shielding effect, it’s buff effect is on a relatively long cooldown, which could very easily miss timing. With this buff, it is possible for the effect to have a 100% uptime, so against very heavy shield compositions, it will be much more desirable!
  • Decreased Passive Cooldown from 10s to 4s
Archmage’s Gem Though Conduit Gem is perceived to be in a relatively powerful spot, its in-line upgrade has not seen the same success. We are heavily boosting its Power to grant it a large stat advantage over its direct competitor.
  • Increased Magical Power from 85 to 120
Rejuvenating Heart This item has seen some fringe success in Lifesteal-oriented builds, but its utility does not grant enough of a boon to opt into it versus other, more Power-focused items. By evening the playing field, we hope to see more of this unique effect in play.
  • Increased Magical Power from 55 to 65
  • Increased Passive Range from 40 to 55
Crimson Claws On its initial debut, Crimson Claws was incredibly strong, especially with its shielding potential. We have decided to shift its focus to be a true Lifesteal build staple versus its current position in which it was competing with Bloodforge, Asi, and Devourer’s Gauntlet. Now, it should fill a slightly more unique position by granting a huge amount of Lifesteal on its own.
  • Decreased Cost from 2550 to 2450
  • Decreased Physical Power from 50 to 45
  • Increased Physical Lifesteal from 15% to 25%
Pythagorem’s Piece This item received a significant amount of nerfs throughout 2023 as it was rightfully blamed for creating the Mage Solo meta. Quite some time has passed since then, so we feel it is safe to bring it back up a little, especially with how much the game has changed in recent patches.
  • Decreased Cost from 2350 to 2250
  • Increased Passive Physical and Magical Lifesteal from 9% to 12%
Bancroft’s Claw Finally, we’ve got a slew of underutilized Glyphs getting a variety of buffs across the board. We hope to see them better compete, especially since a couple of their base versions received some nice buffs this patch as well!
  • Decreased Cooldown from 15s to 10s
  • Increased Max Health damage and shield from 0.5% to 1%
Amulet of Silence
  • Increased Passive range from 40 to 55
  • Decreased Cooldown from 12s to 8s
Perfected Rod of Tahuti
  • Increased Buff Duration from 3s to 6s
Reverent Pridwen
  • Increased Shield Health from 200% to 225% of your Protections
Breastplate of Vigilance
  • Increased Passive Range from 60 to 70 units
Malicious Deathbringer
  • Passive Cooldown Reduction now also affects ultimate abilities
Gods
Ix Chel Though she has finally seen some time in the light, Ix Chel is clearly a step above many other mages when it comes to early game burst and control. Especially since her ultimate got a few impactful upgrades, it’s only fair that she loses a bit of safety while using it as well. Threads of Light (Gleaming Blast)
  • Decreased Damage from 70/115/160/205/250 to 60/105/150/195/240
  • Decreased Bonus Damage from 30% to 25%
Great End
  • Removed Damage Mitigation
Zhong Kui Though the Demon Queller may not be the most popular of choices, in the right hands, he is a tanky, yet extremely effective damage-dealing machine! We’re only giving him a small hit to the Protections from Demon Bag, so he has to play a bit more carefully while still swinging like a truck! Demon Bag
  • Reduced Protections per stack from 1.6 to 1.3
King Arthur The King is back! With the (return? introduction? rebirth?) of Shield of the Phoenix, King Arthur is clearly the best user of it. As such, we are removing the HP5 from his passive that he gained as compensation for the lack of sustain, and we’re increasing a couple of his early game cooldowns to slow him down just a tad in those beginning stages. Steadfast
  • Removed HP5
Overhead Slash (Hamstring)
  • Increased Cooldown from 14s at all ranks to 16/15.5/15/14.5/14s
Hamstring (Overhead Slash)
  • Increased Cooldown from 14s at all ranks to 16/15.5/15/14.5/14s
Mulan Despite a couple big nerfs in previous patches, Mulan remains at the top of her class, with some extra thanks to a couple of returning items from the last patch. We’re increasing the damage required to access the final stat-boosting rank of her abilities via Training Arc and increasing the cooldown of her main clear and sustain tool just slightly to bring down her lane dominance and smooth out her mid-game power curve. Training Arc
  • Increased Sword third rank requirement from 4500 damage to 6500 damage
  • Increased Spear third rank requirement from 4500 damage to 6500 damage
  • Increased Bow third rank requirement from 1200 damage to 2000 damage
Spear Thrust
  • Increased Cooldown from 13s to 14s
Medusa This sneaky snake slithered her way through a couple nerfs with minimal impacts to her stats, so we’re giving her a couple more to hopefully bring her down a couple more notches. Viper Shot
  • Decreased Scaling Damage per tick from 10% to 8%
Acid Spray
  • Increased Cooldown from 13s to 15/14.5/14/13.5/13s
Petrify
  • Decreased Damage from 280/380/480/580/680 + 95% to 270/365/460/555/650 + 90%
Freya Oh Fatalis, how Freya missed you so! With Freya getting back one of her core items, she definitely deserves some nerfs. Irradiate
  • Decreased Damage from 40/55/70/85/100 + 25% to 35/50/65/80/95 + 20%
Pulse
  • Increased Cooldown from 11s to 12s
Valkyrie’s Discretion
  • Increased Cooldown from 100s to 110s
Chang’e Surprisingly, Chang’e’s last nerf did not hit the mark as we had hoped, so we’re running it back to directly impact her damage versus her all-encompassing passive. Crescent Moon Dance
  • Decreased Damage from 80/120/160/200/240 + 60% to 80/115/150/185/220 + 55%
Waxing Moon
  • Decreased Damage from 160/225/290/355/420 + 70% to 150/215/280/345/410 + 65%
Jing Wei As the latest of late game hunters, Jing Wei has been struggling to keep up in the early game. Even with a couple smaller buffs over the past few patches, she hasn’t made much progress statistically, so we’re being a bit more heavy-handed with some bigger buffs! General
  • Increased Attack Speed per level from 1.4 to 1.6
Explosive Bolts
  • Decreased Cooldown from 12s at all ranks to 12/11.5/11/10.5/10s
Agility
  • Decreased Cooldown from 18/17.5/17/16.5/16s to 16s at all ranks
  • Increased Air Power from 20/25/30/35/40 to 30/35/40/45/50
  • Increased Buff Duration from 4s to 5s
Air Strike
  • Increased Damage Scaling from 100% to 110%
Kumbhakarna Kumbhakarna is struggling – both in terms of win rate and pick rate! With this slew of changes we’re aiming to introduce an alternate role or playstyle for Kumbhakarna where he can deal more consistent damage on his own, instead of largely relying on his allies to follow up on his setup. Additionally we aim to reduce some frustration in regards to his Crowd Control; targeting Diminishing Return issues for himself and reducing agonizingly long Mesmerize effects for his enemies. General
  • Increased Base Physical Protection from 18 to 20
Basic Attacks
  • Kumbhakarna’s first two Basic Attacks now cleave
Sleepy
  • Increased Revival Health and Mana from 35% to 40% of his Max Health and Mana
  • When this Passive Ability is on cooldown, Kumbhakarna gains 20 HP5
Throw Back
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 55/60/65/70/75
  • Decreased Cooldown from 11s to 10s
Groggy Strike
  • This ability’s Root no longer is affected by DR
  • Decreased the Duration of the Root from 2s at all ranks to 1.5s at all ranks
Mighty Yawn
  • Now deals 40/80/120/160/200 + 30% of your Magical Power when the Mesmerize is broken early
  • Shifted Mesmerize Duration from 1/1.5/2/2.5/3s to 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5s
  • Decreased Slow from 40% at all ranks to 20/25/30/35/40%
  • Decreased Attack Speed Slow from 30/35/40/45/50% to 20/25/30/35/40%
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 50/55/60/65/70 to 50 at all ranks
Epic Uppercut
  • Decreased Cooldown from 75s to 70s
Maui As another character that continues to struggle regardless of how many buffs he’s given, Maui is next in line for his own set of buffs! Master Fisherman should be feeling better than ever, while we’re granting back some of the strength that Mystical Ulua once lost. With a couple more adjustments to his base stats and Solar Swing, we hope that players will really feel the boost this time around! General
  • Increased Base Attack Speed from 0.85 to 0.9
  • Increased Base Basic Attack Power from 36 to 38
  • Increased Basic Attack Power per level from 1.5 to 1.6
Master Fisherman
  • Decreased Charge Time by roughly 50%
  • Increased Projectile Speed by roughly 10%
Mystical Ulua
  • Increased Protections from 15/20/25/30/35 to 20/25/30/35/40
  • Increased Movement Speed from 8/9/10/11/12% to 8/10/12/14/16%
Solar Swing
  • Decreased Cooldown from 16s to 15s
Bake Kujira There’s no denying that Bake Kujira has taken a harsh fall from grace with his win rate plummeting after a set of back to back nerfs. Although we are giving him buffs here, we understandably want to be considerably lighter on any additional boons to his early game, as he has one of the best laning phases in the game – especially after the addition of item procs on his basic attacks! Rough Waters
  • Decreased Cooldown from 14s at all ranks to 14/13.5/13/12.5/12s
Sonic Wave
  • Increased Damage from 70/115/160/205/250 to 70/120/170/220/270
Twisting Dive
  • Increased Stun Duration from 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5s to 1.5s at all ranks
Anubis One would think the God of the Dead would be thriving in an early game meta, but he simply isn’t surviving long enough to see many fights through. As such, we’re bumping up his base stats a bit to be more comparable with other mages of a similar niche, as well as a couple nice buffs across the board to make him much more effective! General
  • Increased Base Health from 380 to 420
  • Increased Health per level from 70 to 72
Sorrow
  • Increased Duration from 5s to 6s
Plague of Locusts
  • Decreased Cooldown from 11s to 10s
  • Increased Damage Scaling per tick from 20% to 22%
Mummify
  • Increased Stun Duration from 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9/2s to 2s at all ranks
Hel As a character that needs to be in the midst of battle to get things done, Hel has really struggled in the post-TTK world. With a nice boost to her buffs, help with Mana sustain, and a bit of damage, we’re hoping to see her shine a bit brighter alongside her team and on her own as well. General
  • Increased Mana per level from 57 to 60
Hinder (Cleanse)
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 60 at all ranks
Cleanse (Hinder)
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 60 at all ranks
Repulse (Inspire)
  • Increased Damage Scaling from 75% to 85%
Inspire (Repulse)
  • Increased Self Movement Speed from 15% to 20%
  • Increased Allied Movement Speed from 7% to 10%
Hou Yi Having seen how much success his lover has been seeing on the battlefield, Hou Yi wants nothing more than to share the spotlight with her! This Hunter has been struggling to keep up with all the fighting, so we’re increasing his access to his main clear tool, as well as a bit of love for his high mana usage and low Attack Speed. General
  • Increased Attack Speed per level from 1.2% to 1.4%
Ricochet
  • Decreased Cooldown from 10s at all ranks to 10/9.5/9/8.5/8s
Divebomb
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 70/75/80/85/90 to 70 at all ranks
Hun Batz While this Jungler is sitting only slightly below average in terms of win rate, his pick rate is pretty far below expectations, especially considering the changes he received earlier in the year to smooth out his cast and refire times. Now we’re reverting a nerf to his passive and giving him two very impactful quality of life buffs that we hope make Hun Batz enjoyers howl for joy! Infused Strikes
  • Increased Basic Attack damage increase from 15% to 20%
Sacred Monkey
  • Increased Bounce Range from 40 to 55
Fear No Evil
  • Increased Deploy Range from 35 to 45
Tyr Though the perception of Tyr is that he is doing quite okay, his statistics are much lower. Tyr is quite the popular character, so we want to give him a decent push to get him closer to that median level where the statistics and perception will align. Lawbringer
  • Decreased Cooldown from 90s to 90/85/80/75/70s
Pele Ever since the quality of life change to Eruption several patches ago, we expected Pele to be doing quite well statistically. However, she has not met those expectations. As such, we are reverting the preemptive nerf we gave to Eruption, and powering up her counterplay potential with some nice boosts to Everlasting Flame. Everlasting Flame
  • Increased Physical Power gained from 1.5 per level to 2 per level
  • Increased Duration from 4s to 6s
  • Decreased Cooldown from 30s to 20s
Eruption
  • Increased Inner Damage from 60/105/150/195/240 to 70/115/160/205/250
  • Increased Outer Damage from 130/170/210 to 140/180/220
Bakasura Despite some of Bakasura’s most beloved items making a return in the last patch, he is still on the lower end of the win and popularity spectrums. As such, we’re giving him significant changes to his ultimate to grant him more tools to better control and fight in team-oriented brawls. Butcher Blades
  • Increased Passive Physical Power from 5/10/15/20/25 to 10/15/20/25/30
Regurgitate
  • Now deals 20/25/30/35/40 (+10% of your Physical Power) Physical Damage every 0.5s while inside the Area
  • Increased Cone Basic Attack Duration from 6s to 6/7/8/9/10s
Ullr Though we expected Ullr to be performing better in a lower TTK meta, he has struggled in all aspects of the game. We are giving him a small bump in a couple places while trying to stay light on the damage. Bladed Arrow (Thrown Axe)
  • Increased Damage from 60/110/160/210/260 + 70% to 70/120/170/220/270 + 75%
Hail of Arrows (Glory Bound)
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50/55/60/65/70
Glory Bound (Hail of Arrows)
  • Increased Damage Scaling from 50% to 55%
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50/55/60/65/70
Vamana In a solo lane meta dominated by low Attack Speed builds, Vamana has fallen quite a ways behind, so we’re applying a few buffs to his dash cooldown and his Ultimate shield, alongside some feel-good changes to his Umbrellarang ability. Clear the Path
  • Decreased Cooldown from 16s to 14s
Umbrellarang
  • Increased Projectile Speed by roughly 30%
  • Increased Projectile Width to better match the art
Colossal Fury
  • Increased Shield scaling from 0.75% of Max Health to 0.9% of Max Health
Discordia This goddess of chaos and strife is getting even more mischievous! Her win rate is generally middle of the pack, but her popularity has seen a sharp decline throughout the recent patches. With several big quality of life buffs, we’re hoping she becomes more exciting for players of all skill levels. Unruly Magic
  • Increased Projectile Speed by roughly 10%
Erratic Behavior
  • Increased Range from 30 to 40
  • Now also reduces the Cooldown of her ultimate by 0.5s per tick spent in the area at all ranks
Hades Despite receiving a large buff to his Ultimate cooldown in Patch 11.7, the King of the Underworld is still struggling in our post-9.5 revert meta. This time we’re applying more widespread buffs in the hope that he will once again rise in popularity. Shroud of Darkness
  • Decreased Cooldown from 14/13/12/11/10s to 13/12/11/10/9s
Devour Souls
  • Increased Damage from 75/115/155/195/235 + 70% to 75/125/175/225/275 + 85%
  • Decreased Detonation Damage from 10/20/30/40/50 + 50% to 10/15/20/25/30 + 40%
Pillar of Agony
  • Increased Damage Scaling per tick from 30% to 35%
Kali Surprisingly, Kali did not move very much between now and when she received her last major god balance. As such, we want to give her a couple small buffs across the board, as well as reverting a nerf we made to her Passive during the major changes. Marked for Death
  • Increased Penetration per level from 0.25% to 0.5%
Incense
  • Increased Power Buff from 10/15/20/25/30 to 15/20/25/30/35
Destruction
  • Increased Damage Scaling per tick from 8% to 10%
Artemis Though Artemis is a relatively popular pick, her statistics dropped significantly after the TTK changes. As such, we’re granting her just a hair more survivability and slightly more access to her powerful stim. General
  • Increased Base Health from 450 to 480
  • Increased Health per level from 75 to 78
Transgressor’s Fate
  • Enemies taking damage from the Traps are now revealed to Artemis’ team for the duration
Vengeful Assault
  • Decreased Cooldown from 16/15.5/15/14.5/14s to 14s at all ranks
New God Skin Voice Actors
  • Bit Blaster Apollo: Kieran Regan
  • Fletched Faun Artemis: Sara Secora
  • Charred Soul Chaac: Hunter Peterson
  • Hell’s Fury Mercury: Gianni Matragrano
