Odin’s Onslaught Returns!

Slash Refresh
Using some feedback from our recent 4v4 Slash experiment and Slash in general, we have made several changes to improve the flow and feel of the mode! Firstly, Gold spooling has been increased to help push the pace of the game forward. In the same vein, we’ve added a new out-of-base portal to get players back into the action quickly. Finally, Enhanced Apophis is going to be more important than ever before, as many players have found it challenging to break the base in a meaningful way.
  • Gold Spooling increased from 8 per second to 9 per second
  • NEW – Enhanced Apophis now spawns two Juggernauts when killed
    • Note: Apophis becomes Enhanced at 20 minutes
  • NEW – Portals

    • This portal brings you to the center of your side’s jungle
    • Out-of-base speed boost duration reduced from 15 to 10 seconds due to the above change
  • Buff orb pickup lifespan increased from 30 to 45 seconds
Duel
This list of Duel Bans moves away from thematic approaches and returns to a more competitive angle. For this round, we polled our Ambassadors for their opinions on the strongest Duel gods, and, combined with our own internal data, based this list on the results.

Item Balance
Equinox While the damage this item deals feels great, we have yet to get the healing into a good spot. With a slight decrease to the healing bonus when hitting gods, we believe the sustain, especially when boxing, will be much more reasonable.
  • Decreased Healing from gods from 2x to 1.5x
Jotunn’s Wrath The Jungle and Physical Mid build path has been very similar for the past few patches, so we are looking to mix it up by nerfing its core items, which will allow their alternatives to better compete.
  • Increased Cost from 2200 to 2300
Jotunn’s Vigor
  • Increased Cost from 2800 to 2900
Jotunn’s Cunning
  • Increased Cost from 2800 to 2900
Transcendence
  • Decreased Mana from 300 to 250
  • Decreased Mana per stack from 15 to 10
NEW – Curseweaver This brand-new item brings a whole new meaning to VVGS! We have wanted to explore an anti-casting item for a long time, and we are very excited to see how players will use it – especially with its unique stat distribution and location in the item tree.
  • Builds from Sorcerer’s Staff
  • 2500g
  • 60 Magical Power
  • 250 Health
  • 250 Mana
  • PASSIVE – Hitting an enemy god with a Basic Attack or Ability marks them for 4s. When the marked enemy god casts an ability, they take 5% of your Maximum Health + 5% of your Maximum Mana as Magical damage. You heal for 100% of the damage dealt. You may only apply a mark once every 12s. Each time an enemy casts an ability within 55 units of you, reduce the cooldown of this item by 1s.
NEW – Duality Builds are about to get a whole lot more interesting! With Duality, gods who were once unable to buy specific items due to their lack of damaging abilities are now free to go any style of build they want – so long as they’ve got this brand new item with them!
  • Builds from Balanced Blade
  • 2700g
  • 40 Physical Power
  • 15% Attack Speed
  • PASSIVE – Once every 5s, your next Basic Attack has half of its damage converted to Physical ability damage. This damage can trigger ability item effects.
Cursed Orb With our recent shift to make the Doom Orb tree more early game oriented, we recognized that the price was simply too high compared to its competition. While this item is already strong, it made the Mages buying it feel like they come online far too slowly.
  • Decreased Cost from 1600 to 1500
Doom Orb
  • Decreased Cost from 2850 to 2700
Cyclopean Ring Magical ADCs have felt pretty weak lately, and smaller adjustments have not made much of a difference. In this patch, we are making pretty significant changes to a couple of core items to increase their efficiency. Plus (spoiler alert) a few gods in the archetype will also be receiving big changes!
  • Increased Passive damage from 8% Max Health to 9%
  • Decreased Cooldown from 10s to 8s
Bancroft’s Talon
  • Decreased Cost from 2500 to 2400
Nimble Bancroft’s Talon
  • Decreased Cost from 3100 to 3000
  • Added 2 Basic Attack Power per Passive stack
Bancroft’s Claw
  • Decreased Cost from 3100 to 3000
Blackthorn Hammer The Solo lane Warrior meta has had some significant shifts recently with the addition of Equinox in Patch 11.4 for Basic Attack focused gods. In 11.5 we’re attempting to re-balance this shift with a small buff to Blackthorn Hammer, primarily used by ability based Warriors in the Solo lane.
  • Increased Physical Power from 35 to 40
  • Increased Health from 300 to 350
Warding Sigil Though Warding Sigil has been a generally unpopular item for Conquest players, it has seen more favor in other modes. However, due to this item only having Physical Power, it was only purchasable by Physical classes. While we understand that removing the Health from this item is a nerf, we have adjusted other stats accordingly and will now be able to open up this option for other classes as well!
  • Removed Health
  • Added 20 Magical Power
  • Increased Physical Protection from 10 to 15
Sigil of the Old Guard
  • Removed Health
  • Added 35 Magical Power
  • Increased Physical Protection from 40 to 45
  • Increased Healing from 1% of your Max Health to 2%
Infused Sigil
  • Removed Health
  • Added 45 Magical Power
  • Increased Physical Protection from 30 to 40
  • Increased Magical Protection from 30 to 40
God Balance
Bellona Despite nerfs to some of her best items, Bellona has remained a consistent outlier in terms of popularity and performance. Master of War
  • Decreased Protections from 5 to 4 per stack
  • Decreased Movement Speed from 3% to 2.5%
Shield Bash
  • Increased Cooldown from 14s to 15s
Scourge
  • Decreased Damage from 90/130/170/210/250 to 80/120/160/200/240
Neith While this may be Neith’s first ever nerf, we believe that it is definitely justified with her exceptional performance in Mid at the moment. Back Flip
  • Increased Cooldown from 15s to 16s
World Weaver
  • Increased Cooldown from 90s to 100s
  • Decreased Damage Scaling from 125% to 115%
Hachiman Hachiman has been a consistent staple of the duo lane for the past few months. Despite some solid nerfs, he has been quite resistant to change. We are hoping that these nerfs will finally make way for other carries to shine. Master of Arms
  • Decreased Duration from 8s to 6s
Eagle Eye
  • Decreased Damage Scaling from 115% to 110%
  • Increased Cooldown from 12/11.5/11/10.5/10s to 14/13/12/11/10s
Heavenly Banner
  • Decreased Damage from 95/150/205/260/315 to 90/145/200/255/310
Guan Yu Though Guan Yu has seen a minor amount of success in niche populations, in general, this warrior has not seen the wider spotlight in some time. A couple small buffs across his kit will make him more accessible and playable for the majority of players. General
  • Increased base Physical Protections from 22.4 to 23.8
Warrior’s Will
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50 at all ranks
Taolu Assault
  • Decreased Mana Cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 55/60/65/70/75
Cavalry Charge
  • Increased Damage from 75/100/125/150/175 to 85/110/135/160/185
Serqet Serqet has been viable for a few short stints within the past year or so, but since the recent Critical Strike changes, she has been missing in action. As such, we’re giving her some general stat buffs and reverting our previous change to Ambush that will allow her more flexibility in her mobility. General
  • Increased base Health from 560 to 580
  • Increased Health per level from 78 to 80
Ambush
  • Increased Range from 55 to 65
Last Breath
  • Increased Damage scaling from 120% to 130%
Terra Despite a nice quality of life increase in 11.3, Terra has still found herself amongst the bottom Support picks as of late. A couple nice buffs across the board will help her to better utilize her strengths Crushing Earth
  • Decreased Mana cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50/55/60/65/70
Monolith
  • Increased Heal per tick from 2/4/6/8/10 to 4/8/12/16/20
Earthen Fury
  • Decreased Cooldown from 90s at all ranked to 90/85/80/75/70s
Merlin Though many perceive Merlin as a very solid god across the board, he has a shockingly low win rate at all levels of play. With these changes, we are focusing mostly on smaller adjustments to give players more flexibility while not increasing his damage output too much. Overload
  • Increased Damage from 10 to 20
  • Increased Damage Scaling from 15% to 20%
Radiate
  • Decreased Cooldown from 16/15/14/13/12s to 14/13.5/13/12.5/12s
Dragonfire
  • Decreased Cooldown from 18/17/16/15/14s to 16/15.5/15/14.5/14s
Cu Chulainn It’s been a while since Cu Chulainn has rampaged throughout the battleground! Quality of life adjustments abound for this aggressive warrior! Berserk
  • Decreased time to transform from 3s to 2s
  • Increased Shield Health from 10 + 15 per level to 20 + 20 per level
Ground Slam (Barbed Spear)
  • Increased Root duration from 1s at all ranked to 1/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4s
Vent Anger
  • Increased Movement Speed from 5% at all ranks to 5/6/7/8/9%
Medusa This snake has been silently slithering amongst the bottom of the Hunter barrel for too long! Her clear should now more closely match her competitors, and she will now have a flavorful boon of speed with her newly heightened base stat! General
  • Increased Movement Speed from 365 to 375
Acid Spray
  • Increased Damage from 100/150/200/250/300 to 105/160/215/270/325
  • Decreased Cooldown from 14s to 13s
Maui Despite some recent buffs, Maui has still fallen far below the bars of the average Support. Now he’s back and stronger than ever with a bunch of utility buffs! Manaiakalani
  • Increased Mark range from 55 to 70
Master Fisherman
  • Removed self Slow
  • Increased Vortex strength by 15%
Mystical Ulua
  • Decreased Cooldown from 14/13/12/11/10s to 12/11.5/11/10.5/10s
Landfall
  • Decreased Cooldown from 110/105/100/95/90s to 90s
Ymir Ymir now smash foes in any direction! Is Ymir… but better! Glacial Strike
  • Ymir may now rotate during the prefire of this ability
Hera Royal Assault has always had bonus damage, but the area has been so small that it’s been near-impossible to hit on purpose. With this size increase, it should be significantly easier to get that double hit! Royal Assault
  • Double hit area increased by 50%
Osiris Osiris is getting a small quality of life adjustment that will likely not impact his balance too much. The Broken God of the Afterlife is already performing to our expectations, but we don’t want to hold back on a feels improvement if we’ve got it! Spirit Flail
  • This ability can now be cast inside of walls
  • Note: Previously, this ability would not fire if over half of the ability was inside of a wall
Major God Balance
Olorun Olorun has been a low performer all year, so we felt some further buffs were necessary on top of the buffs to his common items: Nimble Bancroft’s Talon and Cyclopean Ring. With significant buffs to Touch of Fate and Focused Light, he’s receiving an overall damage increase, which when combined with a shorter cooldown on Consecration, he should be a much more threatening target in the enemy backline. Touch of Fate
  • Increased Critical Strike Chance cap from 70% to 100%
  • Increased damage from Critical Strikes from 30% to 40%
  • Power requirement increased from 10 to 12
Focused Light
  • This ability now gains increased damage dealt the longer you charge it, up to a maximum of 20% increase for being fully charged
Consecration
  • Decreased Cooldown from 14s to 12s
Mulan The recent tweak to Hercules’ Excavate was a hit, so we’re applying a similar update to Mulan (and Ymir, too), making her Grapple aim more naturally. Plus, we’ve removed the need for Mulan to hit an enemy god to use the subsequent parts of Divine Mastery. Together these changes should make her combat options feel more dynamic. Grapple
  • Mulan may now rotate during the prefire of this ability
Divine Mastery
  • Mulan is no longer required to hit an enemy god to use the knock up and projectile portions of this ability
Fafnir To encourage more aggressive play with Fafnir, Endless Greed is getting an added bonus; granting him Gold for hitting enemy gods – how fitting! Additional changes have been made to Draconic Corruption’s de-transform, allowing him to get back into the fight much sooner. Endless Greed
  • New effect: Fafnir gains 1 gold per enemy god hit with his abilities
    • During his ultimate, Fafnir gains 2 gold per proc of this effect
Draconic Corruption
  • Fafnir now de-transforms approximately 20% faster
  • Fafnir can now proc Basic Attack item effects with his Dragon Breath
Ix Chel Great End has always been a tricky ability to manage, especially when trying to manage the locations of enemies, allies, and yourself. As such, we want to grant Ix Chel additional flexibility in how she uses this ability, especially when alone. Great End
  • Ix Chel now heals herself when hitting enemy gods in addition to healing when hitting allied gods
    • Note: Ix Chel will only ever heal once per tick, even if she hits both an enemy and an ally
  • Fixed an issue where this ability was slightly too narrow, so any enemies within the area of the ability should now be hit as intended
Bastet Bastet’s cat came with some annoyance from both herself and her enemies. Reducing the cat’s health by 1 allows enemies with slower attacks to handle the cat easier, while making the cat immune until during its initial travel means it will always have the opportunity to Root and damage. Read on further down for another small adjustment regarding item procs in addition to these changes! Ensnaring Claw
  • The cat’s Health is decreased from 3 to 2.
  • The cat is now damage and CC immune until it hits an enemy or reaches its max range
  • The initial hit of this ability now damages and Roots all enemies in a 10 unit radius around it
Charybdis Beloved but unfortunately ever-underperforming, Charybdis is receiving some significant buffs in this patch. We’re attempting to address several frustration points at once here: often not having enough Tide, Capsize being slow to use, Whirlpool Form being interrupted, and the general clunkiness of The Maw Hungers. Raging Tides
  • Increased Tide per Basic Attack hit from 2% to 3%
Capsize
  • Decreased time to full charge from 1s to 0.75s
Whirlpool Form
  • Charybdis now gains CC immunity during the prefire of this ability
  • Decreased Movement Speed from 20% to 0%
  • Decreased Amplified Movement Speed from 40% to 25%
The Maw Hungers
  • Improved the firing timing and general feels when using this ability
Item Proc Pass
The development process of Duality required new tech to be implemented, and with new tech comes new possibilities! We’re now able to explore those crazy questions like, “What if Jormungandr could use Death’s Embrace?” … turns out, it should probably be at a reduced rate of damage and healing! So that’s what we’re exploring below.
  • The following gods may now proc Basic Attack item effects on their Basic Attacks at reduced rates:
    • Jormungandr
      • 50% damage and healing
    • Bake Kujira
      • 50% damage and healing
    • Charybdis
      • 33% damage and healing
      • Note: Charybdis previously had this restriction on all of her Basic Attacks, but it is now only limited to her triple fire in her Basic Attack chain, NOT her first two autos or Spike Shot
    • Fafnir (Dragon)
      • 25% damage and healing
In a similar vein to the Basic Attack item effects above, we’re also exploring the new possibility of Pet Abilities proccing item effects. This includes things like Divine Ruin’s anti-heal, the Slow from Gem of Isolation, among numerous others. To make understanding the balance of these changes more intuitive, we’ve created rules for Single hits, Multi hits, and AoE hits. These rules and their ties to specific pet abilities are listed below.
  • The following god pets may now proc ability item effects with their pet’s abilities:
    • The following abilities are classified as Single Hits, meaning their procs will deal 100% damage and heal for 100%:
      • Skadi
        • Kaldr Dash
      • Tiamat
        • Summon Beast Charge
    • The following abilities are classified as Multi Hits, meaning their procs will deal 75% damage and heal for 75%:
      • Artemis
        • Boar Charge
      • Vulcan
        • Inferno Cannon Shot
    • The following abilities are classified as AoE Hits, meaning their procs will deal 50% damage and heal for 50%:
      • Bastet
        • Ensnaring Claw Area Hit
      • Hera
        • Argus Divine Shroud Aura
        • Argus Slam
      • Nu Wa
        • Clay Soldier Dash
        • Note: This is a special exception case because each Soldier Dash will proc item effects
      • Set
        • Clone Skewer
New God Skin Voice Actors
  • Steel Sentry Athena: Sarah Ruth Thomas
  • Iron Fang Anhur: Mike Bodie
  • Prismatic Gust Kukulkan: Laila Berzins
  • Wraith Rider Guan Yu: Connor Fogarty
  • Street King Sun Wukong: Colby Rummell
